Elia is so pretty! Had my baby shower here and it's the most perfect space. The food was great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because it was difficult to communicate with the event planner, she's hard to reach. They also were not accommodating for a halal menu, in the end it wasn't a problem for us because the alternatives were all delicious, but def would be above 5 stars for us if that was an option.
Amazing once again! Had my bridal shower here this past weekend and the event was one I'll never forget. The staff were attentive and the food was fantastic. They had amazing appetizers, a fantastic salad, great options for entrees and an amazing plate of desserts. I'm looking forward to dining here more often.
My friends and I visited Elia Saturday night to celebrate a birthday, and were so excited since this is a personal favorite for many of us. We arrived with a larger party and sat outside. It's decorated beautifully with flowers, chandeliers, and music to enjoy your company. I would recommend making earlier dinner reservations on Saturday. For an 8pm reservation, they were very busy. Perhaps this is what caused a delay in service with our food. Our waiter was accommodating and listened to our concerns. He brought out complimentary drinks for us to end the night. This is typically not the case every other time that I have visited. Nonetheless, the food delivered in taste as usual! It is always consistent and I did appreciate the large selection of specials for the evening. Some highlights for appetizers included the saganaki bites with watermelon, grilled octopus, and crab cakes. I ordered the orecchiette special with pancetta and tomatoes. Many of my friends went with the skirt steak and lamb. Those dishes were a big hit. Thanks for the meal and I look forward to visiting again.
what a pretty place! came here to celebrate my birthday and had a good time. We came in on a Monday night so it was not crowded at all. However there were 12 of us so there's not a lot of options as to where to sit outdoors since it's mostly ideal for 4 people; and we ended up sitting at the very back where its kinda dark and not really to my liking. We did have very good service though and had a pleasant time with Ehab. The food was so good but sooo pricey. But i get it, it was mostly seafood and seafood pricing in NJ can be so high sometimes (where is seafood not expensive anyway?). I wont describe all of the orders since we had a LOT and it will take so much time to write. But i do want to say their specials are worth checking out and maybe even ordering. But do ask how much it is if you're curious to know how steep it may get. But the portions are generous, and like i said, they do taste amazing - Like that squid ink pasta i ordered with tarragon sauce whoa!! and those fresh scallops. Seafood is the way to go here as it is their specialty anyway. Glad we gave it a go but it may be sometime till i return with a larger group lol
What a beautiful Saturday!! From the moment we sat down, service by our waiter David was 10/10. From our watermelon cocktails, appetizers, skirt steak sandwiches, and a surprise dessert, I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. Both inside and outside dining is impeccably designed and the menu is perfectly curated. If you want supreme cuisine, go to Elia's!!
OMG. Just OMG. Halle-friggin-lujah this place has got it goin' on! :) First--my husband and I went to Elia on Memorial Day weekend. We actually hopped the bus from the NYC, because someone recommended it to us. And we figured it would be an interesting outing... Not too hard to get to from Port Authority (just an 8-minute walk from the 163 or 164 bus in case anyone wants to do the same). Anyway, we saw a glow from the street and found Elia -- a beautiful oasis in East Rutherford, NJ. The place was so spectacular-looking with its white tented area outside and beautiful floral accents throughout the interior, it looked like a perfect wedding or event venue. Then the service -- servers Ricardo and Manny both took care of us fabulously, they made us feel like royalty. And shout out to another server, the Greek gentleman named something like Evangelos (sorry if I invented you a new name, sir!) gave us great cocktail recommendations. For appetizers, we ate so much, I'll try to touch on most things. My favorite was the saganaki cheese with watermelon. Dreaming of it still! We had delicious dips with pita bread -- in order of my favorite -- the TZATZIKI!, roasted eggplant, spicy feta (so good -- sorry to list it third), and fava bean puree of some sort. All were great. Then a tray of various items -- lamb meatball in yogurt sauce and some kind of bacon with charred pineapple and oranges--the pineapple was other-worldly. And let me not forget the olives! Also, we had this bucket of seafood and oysters -- it looked like Noah's Arc, the sea creatures version. So fresh and plentiful and gorgeous. And there was a dish with seafood in a tomato sauce that was one of my husband's favorite of the night. I was still distracted by the saganaki and dips, so I didn't get to partake much in that one! And an octopus that was absolutely delectable. And again, I don't eat seafood, and I'm saying this! We met Chef José inside by the fresh lobster and seafood -- and what a sight all this gourmet food was! He also came out to greet us and explain the specials and led us down the path to choosing two spectacular entrees. My husband devoured the lamb chops, and I had a special--squid ink pasta with a cream sauce with lobster and shrimp. I don't even eat seafood -- and I LOVED it!! Then, we tried three desserts -- a watermelon/raspberry sorbet-style dish with some kind of crumbs that was such a delight, a mango cheesecake of sorts with sorbet, and a yogurt dish with berries -- I don't know which I liked best. Maybe that last one... but I vote ALL! :)
